Ones to Watch in 2014
If one of your New Year’s Resolutions or goals this year is to get out and hear more Live Music or get out and get clued up on who the …
are, then this could be your lucky week and weekend as starting from tomorrow, Wednesday January 8th to Saturday 11th, Whelan’s and The Village on Wexford Street, Dublin 2 will play host to ‘Ones To Watch 2014‘. With over 50 of the ‘Best and Breaking Acts’ playing their hearts out on three stages over the four days, I just hope those floor boards can handle the traffic.
2014 is the fourth year this festival has been taking place and if you do decide to brave the weather you’ll be glad to know that although your hair may be a mess, your wallet or purse is still intact as daily tickets only cost €5 and a ticket to the whole shebang will only set you back €10 plus you get a free pint of Carlsberg … if Carlsberg did four day ‘Ones To Watch’ gigs … I suppose this’d be it!
Be prepared for lots and lots, there are over 50 Acts remember, of fantastic and inspirational Irish music which will span all genres from pop to folk, indie and rock to electronic and experimental. I’ve spotted Val Normal on the Line Up, who’s album launch for Plans? What Plans? I went along to … this month last year … where did that year go? Here’s the blog piece Val Normal – Plans? What Plans Album Launch
For the FULL LINE UP and information on how to book your ticket you can visit the Whelan’s website here: www.whelanslive.com
