A Week of AlproAM Smoothie Recipe’s

My AlproAM (Alpro Almond Mornings) Challenge, which you can read about here, all kicked off last Monday January 27th. I was challenged by Alpro to create seven different smoothies in one week, that’s one each morning for seven days. Each smoothie to include their Almond Unsweetened or Almond Original.

Alpro AM Challenge

To be honest, this wasn’t really a challenge at all as I enjoyed creating the smoothies and drinking them way too much for it to be difficult or challenging. In fact although this challenge did end yesterday morning when I made my final smoothie – I have no intention of giving up! … and Patrick who got to enjoy each smoothie with me has no intentions of me giving up making them either!

As I don’t count calories, I can not tell you exactly how many calories are in each of my smoothies. What I can tell you is that as 200mls of Alpro Almond Unsweetened is only 26 cals and the rest of the ingredients I used were either fresh/frozen fruit and vegetables … I can’t see each smoothie being more than 100 calories.

Some readers have been following my smoothie creations throughout the week on Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus and Instagram, others have told me they are going to take part. So I thought it quite fitting to gather all seven recipes and share them here for those who want to try the challenge out for themselves. I’ve also kept in mind The Life of Stuff’ers who are not on these social media sites and so have missed out on my smoothie creations … well now you haven’t.

To create each smoothie. Take 200mls of the Alpro Almond Unsweetened, the other ingredients listed, blend them all together, pour into a glass, drink, lick your lips and go about your day! Simples.

I felt great after my smoothies and they really helped put a pep in my step early morning. I drank each smoothie as part of my breakfast. When it came to lunchtime I was hungry for it, but I do think that the addition of my smoothie in the morning did help keep the wolf from the door as I didn’t eat in between breakfast at 6.45am and my lunch at 1pm, compared to mornings where I have been tempted by nibbles of some sort.
