Bevvy of the Week – Château de Tracy, Pouilly Fume 2014

Château de Tracy, Pouilly Fume 2014

This week I would like to recommend a really special white wine from the Loire Valley in France, Château de Tracy – Pouilly Fume 2014.

Bevvy of the Week - Château de Tracy, Pouilly Fume 2014

Château de Tracy has been owned and run by the d’Assay family for over 400 years. They produce very small quantities of wine in comparison to other Châteaux the Loire Valley, meaning their wine is much sought after.

This is a medium to full-bodied wine and is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc. It has a very attractive nose of tropical fruits which jump from the glass. Flavours of citrus and peach are all present on the palate. It’s very well-balanced with lively and fresh acidity, and ends in a long and lingering finish.

It can be a bit tricky to find and it will take a little time searching but it will be well worth the effort.

A bottle should cost around the €30 mark. For more info on Château de Tracy visit their website here.

Enjoy, Sláinte,

Patrick
