Bertha’s Revenge Irish Milk Gin

This week I would like to recommend an Irish gin called Bertha’s Revenge Irish Milk Gin. Produced in Cork by The Ballyvolane House Spirits Company – this gin really is something special.

Named after a cow from Kerry called Bertha. And not just any cow! But the longest living cow in the world – she reached the ripe old age of 48. Bertha gave birth to no less than 39 calves in her life. Sure isn’t it only fitting she would have a gin named after her!

In keeping with Bertha’s memoir, the people at Ballyvolane House have used whey alcohol for the base spirit for this gin. This whey alcohol, which is sourced from Irish Dairy farms, is the outcome of the cheese making process.

Packed full of mouth-watering fruit flavour, Bertha’s Revenge Gin also has a spicy character to it, with some soft floral notes to end.

This Irish gin is 42% vol, and will set you back around €50.
