Beringer – Californian Zinfandel
This week I would like to recommend a Zinfandel from California produced by Beringer.
Zinfandel is a red grape variety and it’s big business for California. It accounts for about 10% of total vines planted and has been a favourite of Americans and the world for some time now.
This is a full-bodied wine. It’s big and bold with cherry and plum characteristics. Like most Zins it also has a bit of spice to it, very tasty.
This wine comes in at 14% abv but it’s not unheard of for Zinfandel’s to have an even higher alcohol content.
If you are having spiced beef this festive season this wine would pair perfectly with it.
A bottle will cost around €15 per bottle. For more on Beringer visit their website here.
Enjoy, Sláinte,
Patrick
