Anchor Brewing Company – Anchor Liberty Ale
This week I would like to recommend a beer from the Anchor Brewing Company called Anchor Liberty Ale. This is an American beer produced in San Francisco and was first brewed back in 1975. This beer really broke the mould in terms of beer production and many claim it gave birth to the craft beer explosion.
This beer is right up my street. It has soft fruity flavours, with some citrus in there too. The hop flavour is subtle and balanced with a malt caramel character. Most notable are the bubbles, which are very lively, with some comparing them to the type of bubbles in Champagne.
A bottle of Anchor Liberty Ale costs around €3.50 for a 355ml bottle and is 5.9% abv. For more on the Anchor Brewing Company, visit their website here.
Enjoy, Sláinte,
Patrick
