Yves Saint Laurent – Le Teint Touche Éclat
Remember this photo of moi from the Blog Awards Ireland last month? Well earlier that week I realised that my foundation was coming to an end. I was quite happy with the one I was using, and I was tempted to purchase it again curiosity got the better of me and I was intrigued to try something different. Thoughts led to actions and I found myself in the beauty hall of one of Dublin’s department stores to see what would would catch my eye. Instantly it was the Yves Saint Laurent counter and in particular the Le Teint Touche Éclat. And that’s how I came to buy it, wear it to the awards night and find my new favourite foundation.
Now before you go and say that this Le Teint Touche Éclat has been about for a while … well you’re right. It was released here in Ireland last year, around July and if you have already witnessed it in action then please leave a comment with your thoughts. If you haven’t please read on for some delightful info …
YSL Le Teint Touche Éclat
With a RRP of €38.00 YSL Le Teint Touche Éclat is quite reasonably priced compared to other luxury brand foundations. It comes in 22 shades which is pretty impressive. It came about 20 years after the introduction of the famous ‘Touche Éclat’ concealer. The reason? – YSL wanted to give its fans an illuminating and highlighting foundation for the whole face. It has SPF 19 and is free from opaque fillers – which is the ingredient that makes you look like you’ve caked the makeup on. On the box it promises the following:
It’s ultra-sensorial texture blends with the skin for a perfect made-to-measure coverage. Dullness and imperfections disappear, without covering or masking contours of the face.’
My Le Teint Touche Éclat Experience
Illuminating Foundation. Yes. Dimension Radiance. Yes. Weightless Perfection. Yes. Do I love it. Yes.
I suppose that was obvious from the start of this post when I shared my ‘happy head’ photo. The foundation is slightly fragrant. It isn’t very thick but it provides great coverage. You can keep low key for day-time or top up, if needed, for your night-time look. I use both a foundation brush and my fingers. In the morning time when I’m running out the door to work, I use my fingers and when I have time to take my time getting my face on, I use a foundation brush. Both work really well. I have a habit of adding pressed powder over my foundation but this foundation doesn’t really need it.
The colour that the Makeup Artist matched to my skin (one out of 22 shades) is perfect and there is no risk of the dreaded chin/neck line. My shade is BR30 Beige Rosé, which is as I was advised is pale but not that pale. I do have fine lines around my eyes that I’m not ashamed to admit but the foundation really just glides over and helps minimise them. Sweet.
Will I be purchasing this product again?
I can honestly say that this is my favourite foundation to date. Yves Saint Laurent, Le Teint Touche Éclat is definitely a Best Beauty Buy and has found a very wanted home in my makeup bag.
