1. Retile
When most people think of retiling, they assume it’ll be a large project they’ll need to hire someone to do. And although sometimes the case, it isn’t always the case – it can be much simpler than you presumed it would be.
Firstly you’ll need to know where to get your bathroom, kitchen, or even swimming pool mosaic tiles, Making that decision will most likely depend on the company’s range – their style and design, but ultimately your own style should shine through and determine where you shop.
When you’re removing your current tiles, don’t forget to have a skip or something similar to put them into. And before installing the new ones you should do as much research as possible – Youtube ‘how to’ videos will be your best guide. And if you have family or friends who have tiled in the past, ask them for their best tips. Once you get started and have confidence in what you’re doing, it should only take a few days.

2. Add Shelves
How often have you thought about the space your storage units and bookcases take up? It’s probably not often. If you have large units specifically, they could take up a lot of much needed space in and around your home. An answer to this conundrum and a way you can get around this is by installing shelves around your home.
These can be conveniently placed to ensure they take up as little space as possible. While you’ll need to be strategic with their placements, hanging shelves can be a much easier task than you expected, with many manufacturers focusing on making this as ‘fool-proof’ as possible.
Depending on how many shelves you’re hanging, this shouldn’t take longer than an hour or two. But just remember the way you hang your shelves really depends on the type of wall you’re hanging your shelves on. And the first question you need to answer is – is it a stud-wall or a solid wall? After you’ve determined the type of wall, you can then research the best technique for hanging your shelves – your local DIY shop should be able to give you the best advice.

3. Change Shower Heads & Faucets
Few people pay proper attention to their shower heads and faucets. They passively use them without giving it much of a thought. When was the last time you thought about how they looked? You could find that it’s been a while.
These can have more of an impression on your bathroom than you’d expect, making it worth updating them. Though you’ll need to put some effort into finding the right faucets and shower heads for your bathroom units, the rest can be simpler than expected.
Many shower head and faucet options are designed to be easy to install and remove, so you should be able to do it yourself. And after you’ve updated your bathroom, why not consider the faucets in your kitchen!
